Rewa Provincial Holdings Company Ltd 20th Annual General Meeting hailed a success
Suva, 19 April, 2021
Rewa Provincial Company successfully completed its 20th Annual General Meeting on Saturday 17 April 2021 at the Studio 6 Conference Centre in Suva. In his address, the Board Chair Mr Nemani Buresova highlighted that the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected all business across the economy and that the company had in place a contingency plan to prepare for a worst case scenario. Mr Buresova also stressed the importance of good corporate governance with the company implementing governance policies and actually practicing it.
The AGM approved all of the resolutions on the agenda, including the:
- the adoption of the audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020 with the recommendation for non-payment of dividend in light of the impact of Covid-19;
- the appointment of Auditors for the ensuing year;
- the re-election of three retiring Directors to serve for a further three years. The three Directors are Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Mr Nemani Buresova and Mr Cama Raimuria; and
- the adoption of an amendment under Section 10.2 of the Articles of Association relating to the election of three retiring Directors.
In her closing remarks, the Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa advised shareholders that the company has now finally come out of a difficult period and is going through a positive growth trend. Despite the impact of Covid-19, shareholders can be assured that the Board will take all the necessary steps to steer the company in the right direction and in the best interest of its shareholders.
The Rewa Provincial Holding Company Limited was established in 1992 as the commercial business arm of the vanua of Rewa and the people of Rewa. Rewa consists of nine districts. Property management is the principal business activity of the company and its main asset is the ten storey Ro Lalabalavu House on Victoria Parade currently leased to the Government of Fiji.
