Rewa Provincial Holding Company Limited (RPHCL) successfully completed it’s one day strategic planning workshop at the Novotel Hotel in Lami Suva on Friday 14 October 2016. The workshop was attended by the Board of Directors and the key stakeholders from the Rewa Provincial Council who were represented by the Roko Tui Rewa, Council Chair and the 10 district representatives (mata ni tikina).
The main purpose of the workshop was to gather stakeholders together for a full day brainstorming exercise and to review RPHCL’s position and to put in place a plan for the next 3 years with accompanying strategies to achieve and place the company in a viable and profitable platform for the future.
In her closing remarks, Board member and paramount Chief of Rewa and the Burebasaga confederacy, Ro Teimumu Kepa said that “in most cases, companies already prepare a strategic plan without stakeholder’s participation and with the involvement of key stakeholders in this workshop, it would provide a lot of clarity. This question is often raised at the AGMs’ when shareholders are present in large numbers”. Ro Teimumu further mentioned “the importance of conducting proper research and market scanning for projects and the company’s future strategic direction, especially in a fast-growing economic climate like Fiji”.
Mr Nemani Buresova, the Board Chairman said, “this workshop provided an opportunity for our key stakeholder from the province to clarify issues relating to the company. It also helps the company to hear and discuss relevant views of people who operate successful property businesses in Fiji like Mr Div Damodar, our guest speaker, and investment insights from Mr Pramesh Sharma of BSP Life for possible JV options”.
The workshop focused on developing the basic elements of the new strategy: contextual analysis, vision, mission, objectives and goals. Following on from this workshop, a workplan will be prepared to implement the strategic direction of the company for the next 3 years.
